Hi Shihab,
Ayurveda medicines and therapies helps better.
At rVita we follow a 28 day treatment process for eradicating Melasma
1. Gently massage the affected areas with aloe vera gel. Aloe vera contains a potent substance called mucilaginous polysaccharide (MPS), which softens and lightens brown spots and other discolorations.Apply the aloe vera gel to the affected areas and massage in circular motions for 15 minutes.
2. Rub an oatmeal-and-milk mixture to the affected areas every day. Oatmeal is a natural skin-exfoliating substance, which can lighten skin discolorations such as melasma.
Mix one cup of uncooked oats and a 1/2 cup of milk and massage directly on the affected areas. Leave the oat-and-milk mixture on your skin for about 30 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel.
3. Apply turmeric paste to the affected areas every day. Curcumin is the active ingredient of turmeric spice, which has antioxidant and skin-lightening properties.
Mix five-to-six tablespoons of turmeric powder to 10 tablespoons of milk. Add one tablespoon of gram flour to thicken the mixture so it’ll be easier to apply to the skin. Gently massage the paste into the affected areas and leave on for about 30 minutes; rinse off and pat dry.
4. Massage honey-and-almond paste to the affected skin every day. The proteins contained in honey and almonds have a skin-lightening effect on the skin.
Add one cup of raw unsalted almonds into a blender with a 1/2 cup of honey. Blend the mixture until it turns into a paste. Gently rub the mixture onto the affected skin and leave on for about 30 minutes; rinse off and pat dry.
5. Apply lemon juice on the affected skin every day. Lemons contain citric acid, which can naturally lighten hair and skin. Wash your hands and squeeze a fresh lemon on the affected areas; gently rub and leave on for 20 minutes.
6. Take seeds of onion and make a paste of them with water and apply this paste on effected area and wash it after it dries.
7. Extract juice from fresh tulasi leaves and mix camphor powder in it.Apply this thick juice on effected area and wash it after it dries.
8. Take 2 spoons of Triphala Churnam and add it to 300 ml of water, soak overnight. Next morning boil this water till you get 100 ml of brown color water mixed with triphala churnam. Now filter the powder below and use this warm water to clean the effected area gently and later apply above pastes.
Food to eat :
Take 1 spoon triphala churnam with honey every night before sleep and every morning on empty stomach.Make juice of beetroot+carrrot+cucumber+honey and have 2 glasses (500 ml) before breakfast
Food to avoid : Tamarind, spicy and masala food, garlic, brinjal, green chillies, curd or yogurt, buffallow milk (should use only cow milk), liquour, sugarcane, eggs, fish, chicken.
Also avoid exercise in heat, birth control pills till it is cured.

Alpika Rastogi
Hi Alpika,
Holistic approach with Ayurveda therapies, Yoga and diet plays a vital role in Weight Loss.
Three important points for loosing weight: Controlling eating habits, Regular exercise, Avoiding the causes of weight gain
Early morning – A glass of warm water mixed with the juice of half a lemon. A teaspoonful of honey can be added if you like.
Breakfast – Wheat or Mung (green beans) sprouts and one cup skimmed milk.
Mid morning- A glass of orange, pineapple or carrot juice.
Lunch – Salad of raw vegetables such as carrot, beet, cucumber, cabbage, tomatoes. In case you can not digest raw vegetables, either steam or boil them.
Whole grain bread or whole wheat chapatis (Indian recipe) and a glass of buttermilk. It will be good to add some roasted cumin seeds, green coriander leaves, a little salt and some grated ginger in the butter milk.
Mid afternoon – Coconut water or dry fruits or lemon tea or vegetable soup.
Dinner – Whole grain bread or chapatis, steamed vegetables and any seasonal fruit except banana and apple.
Diet and Regimen:
Avoid cold drinks, fatty fried foods and chocolates.
Fruits and green vegetables are low calorie foods, so over weight persons should use these more frequently include the green leafy vegetables, sprouted moong beans in your salad.
Salad is to be taken without any dressing . If you want relish it, take it with lemon juice and salt. Salad should form a major part of meals
Avoid intake of too much salt . Salt may be a factor for increasing the body weight.
Milk products like cheese, butter should be avoided because these are rich in fat. Meat and non-vegetarian foods should also be avoided.
Vegetables like bitter gourd (Karela), and bitter variety of drumstick are useful for loosing weight.
Avoid red meat (lamb/pork/beef) but be on white meat (chicken/fish).
Avoid Smoking/ drinking alcohol.
Do not drink water immediately after meals. Drink it after half an hour. Try to drink warm water.
Exercise is an important part of weight reduction plan. It helps to use up calories stored in body as fat. In addition, it also relieves tension and tones up the muscles of the body.
Walking daily for half an hour is the best exercise to begin with and may be followed by running, swimming and rowing. Increase physical activities in daily life.
